Stretcher
We utilize stretchers made by Ferno and Stryker. These stretchers are also trusted and utilized by the emergency services. A stretcher transfer will consist of at least two attendants. These attendants will provide bed to bed services. Elite provides these services whether you are at home, hospital, nursing home, or other. If stairs are present at the home and the patient requires assistance, Elite provides this service at no extra cost to the transfer. Please see "lift assists at home" for further details. A bariatric stretcher refers to the weight of the patient. Dispatch will determine the requirements of the transfer and will notify during the booking process if bariatric services are needed. This may require Elite to send more attendants and specialized equipment.
Wheelchair
Our wheelchairs range from makes and models to accommodate all patients. For example: larger seat size, tilt/recline features, patient restraint differences, etc. A wheelchair transfer consists of one attendant. To qualify for a (one attendant) wheelchair transfer, the patient must be able to safety stand and pivot to our chair with little or no assistance. If a wheelchair transfer is required, yet the patient requires moderate to high assistance getting in and out of the chair, Elite will provide a two attendant wheelchair transfer. A two attendant wheelchair transfer is also required when Elite is asked to transfer a wheelchair patient to/from a location with stairs.
Broda
What is a Broda? A Broda is essentially a wheelchair which can accommodate many stretcher patients as well. A Broda acts as an in-between from a stretcher and a wheelchair. These chairs have tilt and recline features from siting upright at 90 degrees, to laying almost completely flat. With a Broda service Elite will determine the number of attendants required. If the patient is mobile enough to use a wheelchair, yet would require the added features of the Broda, Elite would provide one attendant for the transfer. If the patient is not mobile and can not use a stretcher (or prefers to not use a stretcher) Elite may be able to offer the Broda service with 2 or more attendants.
Medical Appointments
Elite Transfer Service offers transfers to medical appointments. There are three trip options to consider when booking a transfer. 1. One Way Transfer: This option should be selected when Elite is to drop off a patient and not return the patient within the same working day. 2. Two way transfer: This option is best selected when a patient has an appointment duration of over an hour. Our crew would drop off the patient in the desired location of the dropoff facility (their bed, chair, wheelchair, etc) and the crew returns for a scheduled return time. 3. Wait and return: This option is best selected when an appointment will be in and out to eliminate the requirement to wait for a crew to return. However, wait and return transfers have an hourly rate from the time Elite arrives at the facility to the time Elite departs the facility (waiting fee does not include travel time on the road).
Lift Assists at Home
Elite Transfer Service offers a powered stair chair in each vehicle to assist with ascending and descending stairs. This is a valuable feature to improve overall safety, as Elite has eliminated the risks of carrying patients in stairways. This service is included in every patient transfer for no extra cost. This service is also provided separate from any transfer on the roadway. Therefore, Elite crews may come to your home to assist with bringing a patient up or down stairs without the requirement of a vehicle transfer.
